Michael Rock
(writer/director) has over twenty-five year's experience in
educational theatre, including writing and directing twelve
original, award-winning environmentally-themed shows for
Hersheypark and being on the creative team for four
productions of the Slim Goodbody® Corporation. He was also
the director of an extremely successful children's theatre
adaptation of the improv show Theatresports which toured the
Northeast for almost ten years.
In addition, Michael is an actor, playwright, director and
corporate coach/facilitator. He is a lead facilitator and
role-player with the theatre-based executive education
company Performance of a Lifetime and has helped such
clients as PwC, Booz Allen Hamilton, HSBC and the US
Olympics. Michael's performing credits include Mummenschanz
on Broadway, ten years with TheatreSports, Spontaneous
Broadway and other improvisation companies as well as many
regional, stock and touring productions where he had to
actually memorize lines. Michael was recently voted "Best
Director" at the Aery Theatre's 20/20 Play Festival for his
staging of the premiere of A Real Live Cuban. He has
directed original musicals for UPenn's Mask & Wig Club,
sketch comedy for The Second City Training Center and
others. He has taught improvisation for Ringling Bros. Clown
College, Johns Hopkins University and Theatresports New York
where he was the director of their improvisation school. He
currently teaches acting and improvisation for Marymount
Manhattan College, Comedysportz New York and NYU. He
recently wrote a play, Musical
Chairs, which was presented at the NY International Fringe
Festival, the
